There is an active spot (cash) and forward basis market for natural gas at each of nearly 40 major hubs or market centers throughout the United States. In sum, the U.S. natural gas market is the largest, most liquid and most complex natural gas market in the world.
Total Gas & Power North America, Inc. (TGPNA) has been engaged in natural gas physical and financial trading and marketing activities in the U.S. since 1990.
TGPNA owns 1.0 Bcf/day (10.0 Bcm/year) of regasification capacity at the Sabine Pass LNG terminal in Louisiana, purchases significant quantities of natural gas produced by Total in the Barnett Shale in Texas and has become a top-10 natural gas trading and marketing company in the U.S.A. Due to its size, geographically-balanced trading portfolio and trading expertise, TGPNA is able to optimize U.S. market access for Total’s natural gas production and for its LNG trading and marketing business.
TGPNA has an international and diverse team of more than 70 employees, all located at our state-of-the art trading office in Houston. Our financial and physical traders and analysts and our operations team lead TGPNA’s commercial activities. TGPNA’s internal control, credit and middle office teams provide rigorous controls for all business activities.
